I was surprisingly moved while watching this. Really loved the themes of sacrifice and accepting/making peace with the decisions you’ve made in the past. It felt so much more grounded than any other Godzilla movie we’ve had in recent years. I appreciated that it wasn’t “Marvel-ized”.
Some of the CGI looks great, some looks pretty rough.

The trailer gave way too much away.
The first 2/3 of the movie was great. I love all the foreshadowing; all the shots of the trucks, the shot of Judd’s ankle before he gets stabbed (again, ruined by the trailer).
But once Ellie is brought back, it moves too quick for me. I feel like they had the chance to develop that a bit more, maybe hint at her wanting to kill her family before jumping right into it.
I should have taken another star away for the “what are those” line
Such a solid, fun movie.
Thankfully I had enough points on my Regal card to get a free ticket since MoviePass wouldn’t let me get one.
