While I can see where people are coming from with the criticisms of its derivativeness (BIG midsommar energy here), ultimately love what this is saying.
Our fascination with 'true story' or otherwise shocking + fringe people, events, and ways of thinking encourages a media system that amplifies them for clicks and engagement (or in this case, book purchases). We're seldom considering how that may help these problematic ideas find purchase out in the world.
