  Among my most stressful viewing experiences. Huddling over two laptops with an Oscar party behind me, maintaining focus across two screens, without time to address questions as to what we were watching, feeling the hot frustration of our non-participation, retreating to a quiet bedroom in anxious anticipation of some tragic finale. 

  In all sincerity: ideal conditions for the On Cinema special. Likely as the filmmakers intended.

  If you wanted speculative fiction posing some hokey what-if about Trump’s third term, then sure. I’m sure Adam McKay is working on it for you.

  I don’t have retorts for this movie’s popular critiques, probably because I don’t consider them critiques. I really like this movie. I think it’s cool. If it’s shallow, or “apolitical,” then it’s all the better for it. But I don’t think it’s either.
