Patlabor 2: The Movie 1993
This went so far over my head as a teenager, interesting revisiting now in our current geopolitical climate. Animation, tone, music all superb. Reminds me a bit of Shin Godzilla in the way it focuses so much on how people react to crisis.

The Curse 2023
You just gotta watch this. Electrifying from start to finish. Thematically dense, funny, nerve-wracking, weird. It really has the vibe of late Nathan For You/The Rehearsal mixed with Lynch or some other post modern slow burn horror. Just in love with the tone throughout. I did have to pause for a year about half way through because it’s kinda stressful lol. Great performances from Emma Stone, Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie. A technical marvel with Fielder at the helm, the way it’s shot, the soundtrack, the audio mix in general. It’s just so good. Favourite thing I’ve seen in a long time.
