  This was a blast. I haven’t read the book, but it still felt obvious where the script cut things out. A few minor plots just drop halfway through, and the end comes out of nowhere.

  Still, there’s nothing better than watching Robert Pattinson play just a Silly Guy.

  Mark Ruffalo brings the exact performance he brought to Poor Things.

  This movie handled its subject matter with much more nuance than I expected it to. Somehow it threaded the needle between viscous criticism of organized religion while celebrating genuine faith. It’s a little on the nose, but the storytelling is strong on its own. You could strip away all the movie’s themes, and it would work just as well as a thriller.

  All the actors are stellar. Hugh Grant delivers a career best performance.
