Phenomenal acting throughout, it transports you right back to post war America and the civil rights movement. The setting is believable and feels accurate to the time.
I do feel the pacing was a little off and this results in the film ending a little abruptly which was a shame as I had come to really enjoy the characters and their lives. Despite some of the heavier themes it also manages to be a good time and has a great sense of humour.
So many missed opportunities and such a mess of a plot. It watches like a film that went through production hell and there’s so much wrong with it I don’t know where to begin. Disappointing is the word I’d use.
This film has aged like a fine wine. Rewatching this film at nearly 30 years of age makes the adult parts of this film all the more relatable. It does a fantastic job of making you care about the characters and has some really deep themes to it such as the monotony of working life and the dreaded mid life crisis.
Also Edna is iconic, give me more Edna.

I didn’t really care for the plot or any of the side characters but the action involving the Incredible family was enough to carry the whole film.
Elastagirl on her sleek electric bike was probably my favourite scene. However they did nerf Mr Incredible a lot more than I would have liked, which is worsened by the fact they include another super strong character. More Mr Incredible benching trains please, and more Edna for that matter, much more Edna.
