  War of the Worlds 2005

  Even though it kinda fizzles out at the end, this is one of my favourite Spielberg movies and I feel like I watch it once a year. 
  The New Jersey scenery at the start. The chaos that follows. The genuine horror of what is happening. Tom Cruise making peanut butter sandwiches with a wooden spoon. Dakota Fanning prime acting. Freaky looking aliens. It’s just an all round great time.

  Florence Pugh and Scarlett Johansen as your leads is always going to be a treat and David Harbour and Rachel Weisz were also enjoyable in their roles but despite all this, it felt so slow and tame for a Marvel movie accompanied by an awful cover of Nirvana which I couldn’t stop thinking about for the entirety of the film. All in all, nothing that special at all.
