Adolescence 2025
Strong performances all around, especially from Owen Cooper, who has an incredible breakout role as our 13 year old main suspect. I won’t spend too long going over how impressive the camera work in this show is, as I’d rather focus on how it chooses to tackle our present existence with and through social media, the way it twists our perception of masculinity, sexuality and intimacy. I loved how current this discussion felt, as too often these kind of topics are handled by people who either lack the proper knowledge or don’t know how to address them for modern audiences. Well done.

Bold, irreverent, consistently funny. Mikey Madison is an absolute queen, with a most definitely Oscar-worthy performance, as Sean Baker strikes gold once again. Can the man miss, it’s anyone’s guess. Also, that ending? Speechless.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre 1974
Watched it last year for the first time during Hooptober *wink*, but couldn’t miss the chance to see it in cinemas for its 50th anniversary. Truly remarkable what Hooper managed to accomplish with such a small budget. Incredibly well shot and framed, unnerving industrial soundtrack, and some of the most iconic scenes in horror film history make this a true classic.
