  loved the alien design and the chemistry between the two (?) leads but on the whole it was kind of a mess. most generously, it felt like a bunch of tangential explorations of the core premise that would have maybe better suited a more episodic medium.

  also, i feel like there was a time when mark ruffalo's performance would have been genuinely entertaining but in 2025 it felt like being stuck in a room with yet another man's protracted, self-satisfied trump impression & haven't we all had enough of that yet?

  that tumblr post that's like, shaking my head to show that i don't approve of white louis, etc. etc.

  tbh i expected worse but this did really highlight the merits of the show. aesthetics were on point though, and i can see how this was a breakthrough for kirsten dunst's career (but whyyy did they make her kiss brad pitt ewww).
