Ode to My Father 2014
I can’t comment on the politic representation of this but this movie made me laugh and cry in equal parts, and taught me a little bit about a place and time period I know nothing about so for me it’s a winner.

Romantic comedy? How about romantic tragedy? The DVD release should be accompanied by a maxi-pack of Kleenex ™️ I haven’t cried this much since Past Lives! Oooh la la, this was a real pearl from the past! Very tense, quite funny, and extremely clever in its writing. This is based on a play and it totally grips you like a live action performance would. Each character has a specific role and plays it well, making an ensemble film that would probably do very well in ye old box office if it was released today. Crazy to think it was made in 1948! Also I just love Jimmy Stewart 😭😭😭
