Absolutely devastating - I've never been so furious and had so much empathy at the same time for a lead character in a movie before. This one is going to be with me for a while.

John Magaro continues to be excellent in everything he touches and I only hope he continues to get more and bigger opportunities.

Really enjoyed the performance from the lead Kiran Deol, and I laughed more than I expected. Was a little surprised at how quickly it set aside the "podcaster dealing with their dwindling audience during the apocalypse" conceit, and I think it drags a bit in the middle once we settle into the main group.

On the plus side - reminded me that should rewatch Pontypool and Night of the Living Dead soon.

1917 is a technical marvel from start to finish, containing several of the best scenes of the year. Deakins cinematography is him at his best, while the score and production design are equally incredible. 88/100

A testament to the best and worst tendencies of Aaron Sorkin. Snappy dialogue, a well-structured story, and court room theatrics are staple Sorkin strengths which are paired with an incredibly predictable and overly sentimental ending which felt tonally inconsistent with the preceding 2hrs of story and what we know of history since 1969.

Furthermore, sidelining the story elements surrounding Bobby Seale (portrayed excellent by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) and downplaying the incredibly unjust treatment he received by the court seems like…
