  Malick in his feature length perfume ad era. And like most perfume ads, it looks amazing but mainly features hot people talking nonsensical shit. Rich man who is sad whisper talking about how sad he is is a hard sell ngl. Yeah, Malick’s work does require a certain approach, but at face value, it’s hard not to write this off as overly pretentious, boring and hollow

  This was really underwhelming. A lot of other reviews on here that word it better than I ever could. Did find myself saying “Madison got best actress for this??” multiple times. Found her character incredibly irritating and seriously underdeveloped. We really don’t know anything about Ani until the last minute of the movie. Nothing about it really stood out as a best picture winner either - more proof that the Academy means absolutely nothing these days. The Armenian godfather and hired goons were great though and got some laughs out of me but that’s kinda it

  Enjoyed this more than I thought given the subject matter. I’m a sucker for latter half of the 20th century period pieces and really loved the look and direction of this. The writing was a bit schlocky but it’s super easy to picture these turbo capitalist dickheads saying all of that corny shit. Sebastian Stan smashed it tho (also low key love that Trump hates this)
