Asteroid City 2023
Wes Anderson’s recent shift to what is essentially just creating feature-length artistic compilations (rather than anything actually possessive of a plot and/or emotional centre) is brave, but it isn’t for everyone.
While his earlier films will never be topped in my opinion, I can still appreciate Wes’s dedication to his craft, and the absolute poetry that is his dialogue (evident in the window scenes).
Despite every qualm one may have about this film, overall Wes still maintains his gift to entertain, and that is the whole point of cinema, is it not?
