I liked that this covered less spoken about aspects of living in London during the blitz. (E.g How often bomb shelters got over crowded, so usually working class people had to find cover elsewhere and were consequently in more danger.)
But, I don’t think the film knew what it wanted to be. It felt like a shock factor serial. I wish it had focused more on George, rather than reaching to be an “epic”. The impact of being a bi-racial kid in London at that time was told with really tender, at times subtle storytelling, that was more powerful than constant cgi scenes.
