A Bittersweet Life 2005
Damn stylish. Lee Byung Hun is so cool here that I find myself swooning. One of my favorite actors, and this is probably his best role. It feels like some sort of proto-John Wick. Intense action scenes and well choreographed shots, great soundtrack and all around superb acting. The koreans really are on another level when it comes to action thrillers.

Parasite 2019
The best thing about Parasite is the fact that it's not in any way a pretentious movie. It's no oscar bait and neither does it contain any overly esoteric metaphoric sentiment. Anyone can enjoy this. It's just that it's a really, really solid work in every aspect, from the script, the acting, the well framed and well lit cinematography, even down to the sets and soundtrack. This is the movie that cemented Bong Joon-Ho as a true master of his craft on an international basis. Hopefully there's more to come from this director, as he's certainly one to follow.
