From the trailer you’d think this is like a stooge-esque buddy comedy but holy shit. This is heavy, existentialist, guilt-ridden yet still has time for some darker humor. Colin Farrell is insane, the way he can switch from one second to the next, I mean the acting all around is incredible. A great balance of bleakness and comedy, McDonagh cooked.

    Also they did the thing.

This is a fun theater experience. It’s funny but not overdone, whenever it’s meant to be funny it is and doesn’t become cringey. Cast is well acted for the most part, Ruffalo’s character was too on the nose of who he was parodying, so much so that he became annoying. Robert Pat tho my word he was incredible, not to mention Ackie, Yeun & Collette all good. Thematically heavy—capitalist machine chews you up and spits you out. Visually pleasing. Overall a cool watch, liked, did not love.

We need to start having a conversation about Robert Eggers man, his filmography doesn’t have a blemish. His vision is otherworldly, disgusting, yet beautiful. The way he creates an atmosphere is so brilliant, this is nothing short of masterpiece, a must watch if you love horror. Loved every minute of this.

The cast, what they did here is special, perfect casting. Lily Rose Depp was doing things with her body that felt like shouldn’t be possible. To imagine her talent…

“This trip is one of pain.”

This film is completely okay. The story while well crafted, just feels so awkward, which maybe is intended but I can't help feeling that the emotion I currently feel is not the goal. Something just wasn't sticking. Jesse's character moved me more than Kieran's did which surprises me. As a film tho I enjoyed it.

Jesse Eisenberg has a talent. His sophomore film that he also wrote the award-winning screenplay for and is a…
