Sean Baker does it again—raw, electric, and strangely hypnotic. The whole thing moves with this restless energy, pulling you in whether you want it to or not. Mikey Madison is incredible, but what really stuck with me was how painfully real the spoiled lil shit felt. His entitlement, His recklessness, the way he carries himself —it wasn’t just acting, it was lived-in. I’ve seen those people before.

Definitely deserved the Oscar over The Brutalist. Not Baker’s best, but still a damn good ride.

A film that lingers. Cold, precise, and uncomfortably real. Every frame is deliberate, every silence heavy. It doesn’t beg for sympathy or deliver easy answers—it just observes, with the kind of honesty that feels almost invasive.

Having spent years in Turkey, this one hit differently. I’ve known these people, heard these conversations, felt that quiet tension simmer beneath polite interactions. NBC captures something deeply familiar—how cynicism and self-preservation creep into everyday life, how the line between intellect and arrogance blurs, how isolation isn’t just about geography.

It’s not an easy watch, but it’s a masterful one.

Japanese true crime before it was cool fr fr. The most cold blooded protagonist ever and it works. Imamura going unnecessarily hard with the direction.
