  I enjoyed it. It's interesting to learn about Chinese mythology, although I don't know how much of it has been changed for the film. The film is also deeply rooted in Chinese philosophy, at its core it's a story about a rebellious boy whose parents do everything to make him a valuable member of society. It adheres to Confuscious ideas of parents providing moral education and guiding their kids towards a fulfilling life.
  The action is alright and there are some epic moments there.

  Why does Ridley Scott make movies anymore? Does he know?
  I wouldn't expect to see an egregiously bad technical mistake like a character not even being in focus during an important scene in a Ridley Scott film. There are several day-for-night shoots that all look obviously off, with torches looking dim and not functioning like they should. How am I supposed to be invested in a film and its drama when the director didn't even feel the need to go…

  Babylon is a bold and ambitious movie with a mammoth-like runtime which doesn't feel its runtime by providing plenth of variety and having 3 core characters. Having such a big scope inevitably leads to a lot of decision making which not every viewer will agree with but I agreed with a lot of them and can't help but appreciate the ambition and the passion. 2022 had plenty of films about films, and Babylon shines a different light on the same…
