National Theatre Live: Vanya 2024
Oh thank you, National Theatre, for making this available online. I can’t express how much I loved watching this at the cinema. Andrew Scott’s performance is nothing short of amazing in this adaptation of Chekhov’s play. I heard he is going to perform this in New York this year. I wish I could go. But to anyone who is seeing it live, enjoy this masterpiece!

I didn’t expect the film to focus on Ryota, but I am so overwhelmingly satisfied by how the story played out. It’s been a dream realized for me to see the match between Sannoh and Shohoku animated. I cried reading the manga and needless to say, cried while watching the film.
The details were amazing—from the dust floating around the room to the falling snow.
