A fantastic rewatch of a brilliantly cerebral movie. A revenge movie disguised as a magician movie. This film greatly benefits from a rewatch, little dialogue details and acting quirks really sell the final twist. The premise and execution if this entire experience is top notch and a great example of the mind bending nature of nolan movies.

dang it, I liked this movie. Italian/english suspension of disbelief aside, I found this movie to have a tried and true kids movie formula with good, fun characters. Giulia was so well acted and is a great character overall. Very easy conflicts (jealousy of a new friend) but also not too drawn out to be hard to watch. Dialogue failed to feel like real people talking (these 10 year olds really open up about their feelings) but you'll get that with any kids movie.

I've rewatched this movie so many times, yet this is the first time I noticed the intense and uncomfortable romantic tension between Dan and Gretta. It would have been 5 stars if they just hadn't spelled out the "what if" for this relationship with an age difference of like 20 years.
Aside from that gripe, the movie is phenomenal. So many other (good) subtle details that I just caught, and two clearly imperfect couples, their love, damaged by very similar…
