Nosferatu 2024
Meh. Underwhelming. Style over substance. First 45 minutes was great, the atmosphere and visuals amazing, but somewhere in the middle it became so slow and tedious to get through, predictable, and just plain boring. Considering all the hype surrounding this I was disappointed.

All gore/effects, no substance. No retribution for any of the characters, who also never survive for very long. Unnecessarily violent and that's coming from a big horror fan. No suspense to make the violent scenes worthwhile... I also strongly oppose unnecessary violence towards children in films - especially when it isn't needed to drive the story forward.

Very Kubrick, very David Lynch, very Cronenberg... Demi Moore is amazing in this and the message of this movie, though it's been done before, has never been done like this. The ending is bonkers. Absolutely recommend it, but if you're squirmish look away.

Late Night with the Devil 2023
Loved this. One of those rare, good modern horrors that really sticks in your memory after viewing. I love that the horror progressively ramps up and just never backs down, and what a finale. The unique style of filming gives it a sense of unpredictability too.
