Pretty sure this rating has everything to do with my attachment to the characters. I’m as loyal to them as the servants are to the family of Downtown Abbey.
This was the first movie watched in theatre since COVID. This 100% is probably why I gave it such a high rating. But Kong & Godzilla & surround sound, movie theatre screen (in a practically empty auditorium) 👌
If you want to spend an evening cringing; watch this movie. The CGI is dazzling, the storyline forcibly awkward and uncomfortable. It’s portrayal of PTSD does a disservice to those who have PTSD and the storyline where the main character somehow overcomes addiction by confronting his PTSD is the kind of Hollywood fairytale bullshit that is supposed to make you feel warm and fuzzy inside.
