  Encanto’s animation was beautiful and full of soul. I loved that there was emphasis placed on the women of the family who each had unique traits. Luisa was my favourite. There were some comedic moments that genuinely had me cackling irl. The messaging was a bit simplistic and blatant, but nonetheless uplifting and hopeful, needed some of that positive energy in my life rn, even if I do think the ultimate outcome was like too idealistic and perfect.   Megalopolis felt like a really bad trip. Sometimes, the filmmaking was beautiful; some other times, the CGI was really ugly. The characters all feel so far from humanity, not unlike Kinds of Kindness, but here, the messaging really is unclear and muddled.
