Sweet Bobby: My Catfish Nightmare 2024
i already saw the ending coming, but it still made me sick to my stomach. throughout the movie, i caught myself saying that i would never put up w that and i would’ve caught on sooner, but it’s *obviously* a lot more nuanced than that. like desperation of wanting to be settled down, plus the stress of knowing you’re not getting any younger, and the fear of family disappointment can clearly make people ignore the hugest reddest flags there are. and i respect the restraint kirat has because i would’ve committed several crimes. 5 stars solely because this doc exhausted me

for a heist movie, it was pretty slow-paced but the heist itself had good suspense. this movie serves more as a transition into a new “era” i guess for where the movies are going to go.
the only thing i didn’t like was the dialogue. sometimes characters would literally just talk.. for absolutely no reason. the whole croissant thing was pointless and unfunny. there were several times during the movie where i could tell they were trying to do deadpan…
