One of my first experiences in higher-art film. I remember loving it on my first watch, and I’m glad to say the feeling has not left. Best of the De Niro & Scorsese partnership, and best of their respective careers separately. Just a very very very good film, and one all film lovers should watch. 10/10

Upstream Color 2013
Part two of my Shane Carruth Binge, definitely the less accessible of his two films but still very worth seeing. Carruth leans more on his artistic side and less on his technical in this film, but still comes through with an amazing product. A dense mind-bender for sure, but still an astoundingly beautiful film. Creative and at points breathtaking cinematography help tell this odd but interesting story. More proof that Carruth is a truly great and unique mind in the world of filmmaking. 9/10.

Portrait of a Lady on Fire 2019
A beautiful love story that is so beautifully told. The acting, directing, writing, cinematography, and even the set design are all near perfect. This film stands above nearly all films that are similar, and is the perfect choice for those who want to watch and experience two people falling in love. I would highly recommend this film to everyone I know, and will certainly be revisiting it time and time again. 9/10.
