Why Watch Christmas Movies?
We love movies. They are a form of storytelling. In life we find meaning and value in stories, not unlike getting nutrients from foods that we eat. For me, Christmas movies are a special example of this.

Loved this movie as a little kid in the 80s because it was Star Trek with Spock but also because it was set in the present near where I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area. Upon rewatching after many decades, I see that it was actually an extended “save the whales” commercial disguised as a Star Trek movie. Noble, yes. Great cinema, no. But still awesome for the nostalgia vibes alone. Good work, Captain Kirk!
Beautiful film. Great child actors. A boy takes extraordinary measures to save his classmate from unfair expulsion, showing courage and maturity despite friction from the clueless adults who rule his world.
