Continuing my October movie arc by choosing more movies labeled by Letterboxd as horror but aren't scary in the slightest.

With how good Letterboxd is a propping up great old movies, It is nice to see what a highly rated, but relatively unseen movie is like. I went into this movie completely blind other than the fact it was horror and it had a high rating. It surpased my expections by providing a unique samurai drama.

The first Mifune-Kurosawa collaboration and the first great Kurosawa film in my opinion!

"Drunken Angel" is a movie about many things. From the plot it's a story about a Yakuza member dealing with TB (or as I will always know it as, consumption) and the doctor determined to help the uncooperative patient. A 50s movie. . .available for streaming on Netflix?! Inconceivable!

"An Affair to Remember" is a charming romance film featuring two great iconic actors, Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. Yes this movie is cheesy by today's standards but the witty banter and connection they have is quite charming. It's a simple premise of two people who meet, fall in love, but are forcibly separated and thus set a date in the future to meet up. You can probably guess how…

The first girl is how I imagine most artsy New Yorker Girls sound like.

I was pleasantly surprised by this absurd comedy from none other than the great Scorcese. As expected it's very New York, but our character is stuck in a very surreal version of the city. This movie takes place during one night but our poor protagonist has more misfortune than some people have in their entire lives.

Frankly I have no clue what this movie is actually…

Been aching to rewatch this and finally found a good time to.

Whenever someone dislikes or has reservations about musicals, I always point them to this film. It emanates so much joy and fun that only a curmudgeon could not enjoy or at respect it. I’ve seen the Varda documentary regarding this film and it was amazing to see how the movie put Rochefort on the map, in no part due to Demy’s actual painting of the town. The colors…
