Is it normal to watch this movie over and over again despite having no clue what is happening in it? It is? Good.

    ★★★★

When watching Blaze I found myself transfixed from start to finish. Ethan Hawke’s telling of Blaze Foley’s life and especially the years he spent with Sybil Rosen come to life in such a real and grainy way on screen. Ben Dickey singing and acting are transcendent and deserve more recognition and visibility. Alia Shawkat (you now... Maeby from Arrested Development) convincingly conveys the emotions and challenges and being in love with a restless soul.

The movie is not without its problems.…

As a summer disaster movie, it checked all the boxes.

I didn’t think I could love this movie more, but then I saw it in 3D on Apple Vision Pro. It’s so beautiful.

Do you like puppets being vulgar? Do you love the musical Avenue Q? Well, you’re probably still going to hate this movie because it is horrible. The gags are over the top and the writing is pretty atrocious. While I did laugh a few times, I found myself just as often rolling my eyes and shaking my head. I do not recommend wasting your time/money on it.

The IMAX 3D remaster of Thriller was pretty incredible. I was enthralled from start to finish - it was truly like seeing an all new film. Hearing Vincent Price’s narration in booming sound might have been the highlight for me.
