The Electric State 2025
Fucking unadulterated, putrid, predictable, grey, awful slop. I would love to say that there is absolutely nothing here, but the fucking moronic positioning of a robot Mr Peanut, positioned as an MLK figure, essentially fighting Giancarlo Esposito in a mech suit as they discuss humanity is too fucking funny to pass up.
The most surprising thing about this is how much Pratt has absolutely squandered all of his goodwill. This is a return to form in terms of the pudgy…

Black Widow 2021
I wanted to like this so much. The cast are good, with what they’re given. The action would be good if it didn’t cut every second to obscure any real fight choreography. The villain is non-existent. The family dynamic, like the comedy, does NOT work. I do have a lot of goodwill for Marvel properties, but this simply wasn a great showing and offers little to no rewatchability, which is an issue considering it’s stake as a tent pole release of Phase 4.
Everyone involved deserved a lot better, and I hope to see Pugh and Harbour involved in more enjoyable ways in future.
