    A Complete Unknown is a frustrating movie. It’s frustrating because I really love everything that’s here. The performances are fantastic, the atmosphere of 1960s New York is so well realized, the music is great of course, and the movie looks as good as it sounds. It’s obvious that so much care went into bringing this story back to life. But the loose narrative rushes through so much of the man’s life that I came away from this knowing no more about Bob Dylan than I did going in.

    With how many times I've heard Anchorman referenced throughout my life, watching it for the first time in 2025 honestly wasn't that funny. Many of the most-quoted jokes were easy to see coming and didn't hit how they would have if the punchlines were new to me. I still found myself quite entertained and I did get some good laughs out of the more subtle humour and physical comedy.

I’m not much of an anime expert, but I have to assume the direction the story takes was pretty subversive at the time—and likely still is.
