This is actually really good. While Keanu Reeves is far from an “accurate” version of the character he’s still good in the role (however I worry for his lungs with the amount of cigarettes the character goes through over the course of the film).
This is also has some really creative sequences (such as one of the leads being pulled through a building by supernatural forces) and some interesting ideas…
I enjoyed this a lot. Incredible work in front of the camera, from the direction, acting, production design, cinematography you name it. Gorgeous to look at, with a similar grimy aesthetic to Snowpiercer. Also liked whatever Pattinson was doing and did a good job in distinguishing the two versions of himself (spoilers …that was revealed in the trailer. Calm down). This film is also really funny guys! In a dry, dark kind of way…
I feel like my issues with…
I’m surprised how much I loved this. There’s something about the whole film that just feels so real. The conversations between the leads while I’ve heard were almost completely scripted, they don’t feel that way. They feel clunky, even awkward at times. Really captures what an interaction like that would be like.
