A Rainy Day in New York

    ★½

Feels like a missed opportunity. The chemistry between Timothée Chalamet and Elle Fanning feels forced, and the characters end up flat and unrelatable. The attempts at quirky romance fall flat with a predictable plot and weak dialogue. It tries to capture the charm of New York on a rainy day but ends up feeling bland and unoriginal. For my 3/10, it just didn’t deliver the magic or emotion I was hoping for.

    Nickel Boys

    ★★★★

This is a haunting film that takes its time to reveal the full emotional weight of the story. The performances are strong, and the slow pacing lets the horrors of the reform school sink in without rushing through them. The film does a great job showing the effects of institutionalized racism and trauma, and while it sticks with you, I wish there was a bit more focus on the aftermath of everything that happens. It’s a powerful story, but it leaves you with that feeling of lingering discomfort.

    ★★★½

Tim Burton's Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is a vibrant sequel that captures the essence of the original while introducing fresh elements. Jenna Ortega shines as the new Lydia Deetz, and her interactions with the original cast—Winona Ryder, Michael Keaton, and Catherine O'Hara—are delightful. Jenna Ortega brings a refreshing energy and depth to the character, making her scenes some of the most captivating in the film. Her performance is a standout, and she truly embodies the spirit of Lydia Deetz in a modern…

    Trap

    ★★★

Trap had me hooked at the start with its classic Shyamalan suspense, but somewhere along the way, it lost some steam. The twists were there, but not as mind-blowing as I'd hoped. Still, it kept me entertained enough to give it a 6/10. If you're a fan of his work, it's worth checking out, but don't expect it to be outstanding.
