Such a writer's movie, a la Linklater - how neat to pull off a project like this and do it so well.

Enola Holmes 2020
A fun update to the Sherlock Holmes franchise! It's not perfect by any stretch, but I usually give some extra points for missing the mark a little with a lot of energy and personality, and this movie did that for sure. The relationship that most intrigued me was actually Enola and Sherlock's; hopefully they do more with that in the sequel(s) I'm sure will come. Tewkesbury was also a nice addition to a story that otherwise may have been blander and even more predictable.

Before Sunset 2004
Walking back to my apartment tonight, I realized it was time to watch the second installment of the Before trilogy. It did not disappoint. (And yes, I expect Before Midnight to kill me.) No surprises as far as dialogue and conflict; Linklater and Kim Krizan…

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri 2017
Lots of awkward dialogue and tonal shifts, plus another weird use of political themes to try to make an obliquely "relevant" movie. Didn't like the Sam Rockwell scenes until the final third. But still a bizarre ending. (Are we supposed to like that the violence may continue? That it's a joke to kill?)
Anyway, at least my love for Lucas Hedges didn't die with this movie.Translated from by
