An epic with the scope and heft of a great American novel, brought to life by a terrific ensemble cast and rousing score. I think the first half is probably stronger, but maybe that's only because it's so painful to watch the Toths' American dream come crashing down on them in the second.

Kinds of Kindness 2024
Lanthimos attempts to gives us three movies for the price of one, which isn't quite the compliment it sounds like. Each of the three parts feels underdone in it's own special way. It's a shame because the stories feel like they would've been much better served by a full-length runtime. The humour isn't as funny and the psychological drama is nowhere near as intense as any of Lanthimos's previous films. Perhaps worth a watch solely for Jesse Plemons's delightful moustache in the first section.
