  I liked this much more than I expected to. Utterly tremendous performances from Fassbender and Winslet... and Rogen? It's a gentle supporting role, but I think Rogen is in absolutely topmform here. Adn while I'm usually not a fan of Sorkin, Boyle directs this script in a way that makes a series of quippy conversations feel relentlessly propulsive. I also don't usually like movies centered around unlikeable people, and somehow I was glued to this. Weirdly good movie.

  Stunning, painterly cinematography and a story about schmuck. I always struggle when narratives center on assholes and their dramatic choices. Sure, I don't think a movie needs to condone the actions or beliefs of its main characters, but I always find it harder to buy in when I don't care about anyone in the movie.
