  Drive My Car 2021

  How this is presented in such a mundane and restrained manner yet still manages to pull at me so emotionally is a testament to how special this film is. Easily the best release of the year and one of the best movies I've seen this year. I'm so glad I got to see this in theaters.
  (Also, the song that plays at the end is just... perfect.)

  Love & Pop on crack.

  But seriously this movie was totally awesome. These type of low-budget, guerilla-esque movies make me want to get more into filmmaking. It's pure insanity and something only Sion Sono could've directed. It's some of the most fun I've gotten out of his filmography and I highly recommend it.
