I appreciate what The Big Short set out to do, and it isn't an easy task to explain and depict the logistics of the 2008 recession for a general audience. But I feel like this would have worked so much better as a TV show, a la Succession or Mad Men. In its current format, it's just too much to digest to be able to enjoy it.

A Touch of Zen 1971
This is the second King Hu film that I have seen this month - the other being Dragon Inn - and this was even more epic than the last. With a vast array of beautiful locations, more refined choreography, and a more complicated plot, this felt like a step up in production value.
It was delightful to see scenes like the bamboo forest fight, which would later inspire Croughing Tiger, Hidden Dragon. The singing scene was also a highlight for me.
If you like wuxia, you will love this.

I would have much preferred Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 had it consisted entirely of Rocket's origin story. The scenes of Rocket's past were interesting, heart-warming, and gut-wrenching all at once, and the villain and his schemes were much more menacing through the animals' eyes.
