Ralph Fiennes is undoubtedly a highlight (especially when handling the Vatican turtles). The subtly, empathy, and nuance of his performance beyond justifies a screening of “Conclave” at your local theatre!
“The Brutalist” is intentional. Despite being rooted in the wake of the horrors of WWII, this flick does not lazily rely upon common historical knowledge of the displacement this tragedy created. Instead, “The Brutalist” is a masterclass in character development and exploration that provokes disbelief in any viewer unaware of its purely fictitious nature going in. A truly refreshing albeit heavy watch worthy of a trip to your local cinema.
