    Even better in cinema!

So fun to watch this with people that have not seen it before and witness their bandwidth of reactions.

Still fascinates me how, despite all the violence and graphic scenes, the most nauseating parts always come at the hands of the absolutely brutal sounds of constantly reapplied bandage wrapping.

    ★★★

At times, Mickey17 feels like Don’t Look Up Part 2. Any form of ambiguity is non-existent (like seriously I have never seen satire less subtle than this) and it sadly has this clean, Netflix-like, filmed-100%-percent-in-a-studio type of look. The overall plot seems pointless and unnecessary and has most likely been done a million times before. Also seems like the production was heavily inspired by Netflix’ guidelines of “tell-don’t-show”, never expecting the viewers to remember anything that happened more than five…

    Kind of a waste…

A lot more polished than Argento‘s earlier stuff, has some impressive camerawork and plenty of intriguing as well as visceral moments and shots, but also probably the biggest pick-me-girl of all time, an ending that seems like it was written by a 6-year-old and a voice-over more terrifying than any movie could ever be.

The definition of every frame a painting.

Some incredible shots and impressive scenery paired with a banging, mostly classical soundtrack make up for the absolutely non-sensical story.

Doesn’t contain lots of humor but one kill will have you bursting out laughing.
