This movie rules. I love how eerily analogue everything is. Time travel teleportation doesn't flash or explode, people are just suddenly *there*. Even the costume design of the evil henchmen is just people wearing all black. And 30 years later they add wide hats.

I really like the concepts this explores with cycles of violence and how a parents role can influence the course of a child's inclination for cruelty. We have Kid Blue, Joe, and Cid, all as different…

Genuinely hilarious. This is a solidly good comedy for everyone outside of the landscape and culture, but if you existed in Utah valley in the early 2000's this is a truly great comedy. Staunch LDS, anti/exmo, or anywhere in between, if you had a brush with Mormon culture this is required viewing and flat out enjoyable across the board.

I was the only person who laughed at this in my film class. I'm disappointed in my generation.

Of course. Of course this was so good. Satoshi Kon wrote it and Yoko Kano made the music.

The combination of both these creative minds in a 90's sci fi short is a match made in anime heaven.

Loved seeing the decaying, rusted atmosphere accompanied by the beautiful opera singing. Kon's fingerprints are all over this.
