  Every frame was like a painting. The 2πr aspect ratio and cinematography of this movie were such a pleasure to marvel at. You can tell that every sequence was filmed with this aspect ratio in mind and that Feng Xiaogang's fastidious care for this artistic choice extends far beyond camerawork -- with set design, costume design, sound design, and color grading all beautifully executed. I also appreciated how Feng dedicated many shots to just establishing the atmosphere of the scene…
