An all time classic that still holds up as one of the most realistic cop films produced in Hollywood.

It’s the little things and attention to detail that make it feel real. My favourite being in the aftermath of the fabled car chase when Hackman finally gets the assassin pinned down he collapses against the railing from exhaustion.  A great small moment in a film full of them.

    Love it just love it.

A well executed true life drama with some incredible claustrophobic and tense underwater sequences.

The film is let down by some of the acting when it moves away from the underwater crew. Clearly budget was spent on securing Woody and the underwater sequences.

Minor quibble though as this was a really enjoyable film.

As a self confessed Fincher geek I was always going to like this however this was really good.

There isn’t much of a story and it centres entirely on Fassbender as the killer of the title. He is in every scene and hardly has any dialogue.

The motivations of his character are all conveyed through his sardonic, twisted and funny voice over which is similar in some ways to Edward Norton’s in fight club.

The film is thrilling, tense and…
