  A criminally overlooked gangster film which had the misfortune of being released the same year as goodfellas.

  Great performances from Penn, Oldman and Harris. Amazing locations properly one of the last films to feature old New York and to top it off it has a heartbreaking score from Morricone

  If you haven’t watched this yet you should.

  Initial thoughts are that I liked fallout better and they still haven’t topped the first one. It’s de palma so ain’t ever gonna be topped

  There are a few plot holes in this but it moves at such a pace you don’t get a chance to stop and think about it.

  As a self confessed Fincher geek I was always going to like this however this was really good.

  There isn’t much of a story and it centres entirely on Fassbender as the killer of the title. He is in every scene and hardly has any dialogue. 

  The motivations of his character are all conveyed through his sardonic, twisted and funny voice over which is similar in some ways to Edward Norton’s in fight club.
