Hard to find an original bone in its body - 2 hours of non-stop fan service with callback after callback to previous (and better) films all the way to literally the final line - but I am inclined towards leniency, as I understand there was no other way this was getting greenlit given the tame responses to Covenant (and it seems to have worked!). Safe as it is, however, I did have a lot of fun and some of the "original" sequences here are truly great - the floating acid instantly comes to mind. Here's hoping the next film is able to stand on its own.

Won't be the first or last to say it, but if this wasn't based on a true story, I'd be ready to rip the story to shreds for the sheer ridiculousness of its procession of misery. Another Round 2020
Part comedy, part drama, the tone in this film is constantly walking a tightrope, but, for the most part, it manages to keep its balance rather impressively. The last third of the movie is the weakest, going in an expected direction (to be honest, can't really see where else it could have gone and, in a way, it would be irresponsible not to go where it did), but it thankfully nails the ending. A celebration of life and a movie that can be enjoyed by just about anyone.
