  First film on my watchlist, finally getting it checked off just in time for my 2-year anniversary on Letterboxd.

  Samuel L. Jackson is terrifying and mesmerizing in equal measure here. Crying shame he didn't get the Oscar -- really feels like a (motherfucking) lightning in a bottle type moment.

  This film is revered in the annals of my childhood. For a long, long time it was my favorite movie. Not my favorite Christmas movie, just my favorite movie. Period. I would watch it year-round, well into the sweltering summer months when snow is but a distant dream.
