  The Christmas story sans all the trimmings of shepherd boys, barn animals, or the wisemen in any real capacity. The pacing is really weird too.   This film is revered in the annals of my childhood. For a long, long time it was my favorite movie. Not my favorite Christmas movie, just my favorite movie. Period. I would watch it year-round, well into the sweltering summer months when snow is but a distant dream.
