  It’s not a bad movie but I would actively avoid watching it again. It felt generic for the mafia genre and wasn’t particularly memorable but shout out to old man De Niro for being a master of his craft.

  My friend thinks The Bear is a comedy and I think Mickey 17 is a comedy. It appears some possible story lines were expendable too but that’s okay because Robert Pattinson delivered a brilliant performance. Ruffalo too. Maybe I’m adding too much sauce—but the film is super solid when I don’t take it too seriously.

  Blue Velvet 1986

  This is my introduction to David Lynch (rip) and this is probably a suitable starting point. The film isn’t overwhelmingly surreal but it easily could’ve been (though we might end up with a different film). My friend considers this a coming of age film and Jeffery’s descent into the darkness of adulthood is here to argue against. What I’m sure we will agree on is that Frank was right, PBR > Heineken.
