"There are no Reds or Whites here, only patients."

From what I've gathered this is one of the truly great pictures depicting the futility of war. It meticulously shows both how both sides treat those caught between as fodder without need for any kind of plot or character-building distractions.
The long, sometimes magically moving camera setups here are marvelous. While there are noticable cuts for when they have broken down, I truly don't understand how they were able to capture…

Thoroughly fun hand-to-hand combat actioner set on a plane that escalates itself rather nicely. The intercut in-between bits, not on the plane, are poorly shot trash and could have been cut down considerably. The plot is also, of course, razor thin (though I appreciated the attempt at a social conscious).
Loved seeing Hartnett do this type of stuff. Even with some of the more obvious cheat/smash cuts there's still some impressive fight choreography here. And a heathly dose of humor as well.
Not a great movie by any means but enjoyable enough to warrant a possible straight-to-streaming sequel(?).

In trying to recall my initial thoughts about this, I can remember being overly annoyed with Shelley Duvall's performance here. Boy, was I wrong. She is amazingly good here (check out…

    Hooptober 6.0 #5:
I wanted to like this but I didn't, mainly because Bernie Casey's reasoning for turning from mice to human subjects in an instant seems purposeless. After the first transformation I literally lost the plot on what was going on here. Was his turning "white" (according to the Moonlight Lounge patrons) supposed to be metaphorical or literal here? The scenes where he causes all the havoc just seem poorly done (mostly flailing arms and grunting). Aside from the…
