Despite all these "cooking is art/love language/communication medium/life purpose" lush visuals, the movie is very poor, it doesn't offer anything else. No matter how much your Provence kitchen is sun-flooded, how strong your cottage core vibe is, how many animal corpses you stuff with sliced truffles, how elegant Juliette Binoche's hair is, or how loud the birds in the background sing, if your story is based on a heavy-breathing rich man being disrespectful to a woman who washes his dishes, you can't make a decent movie.
