The structure was a little chaotic, the priest's symbolic and literal journey through did not breathe its existential breath, and yet within the mess there are moments of splendour and transfiguring beauty. These hold the film through the rest to something one can appreciate to some significance.

The mythic odyssey was fun enough for the first half. Its brilliant simplicity was, however did not converge with any significant aesthetic value and thus the latter half felt a drag.

A very white film about very white problems and a very white girl is the protagonist meaning this was awful before it began. And the materialisation of themes in the apocalypse setting was laughably bad not to mention the incredibly camp weirdo propaganda. A bad kind of film made in perhaps the worst kind of way.

Every stake in this film requires an investment into the main characters who are made out to be awful. Their struggle is not enough for me to be able to empathise and there's really not much drama outside of that.
